Mid-Level Enrichment (MLE) Program
Mid-level leaders need business acumen and superior leadership tools to support them both professionally and personally. MLE is a hands-on, experience-based program that sharpens critical skills to prepare for advancement within an agency.
What Is MLE?
This SoFLE program is a 15-week immersive experience for federal leaders who are tasked with making strategic organizational decisions. Aligned with OPM ECQs, the DoD Civilian Leaders Development Framework, and the DoD Civilian Leader Development Continuum, MLE provides a practical approach to the leadership skills and technical knowledge every senior leader needs.
Who Attends
The MLE program assumes 3–5 years of management experience and completion of an in-agency LDP or federally focused leadership certificate program. It is recommended for high-potential managers in the GS-13 to GS-15 levels.
How It Works
Applicants must submit a learner’s application essay, letter of recommendation, and letter of commitment. The program starts with 3 days of instructor-led, in-classroom activities, group projects, and 1:1 executive coaching.
The Details
Students develop business acumen through acquisition, financial management, and data analytics topics, engaging in action learning, service projects, assessments, and receive feedback from coaches, peers, and mentors.
