Let’s face it, the Workplace Learning Professional’s role is no longer filling training requests to fill up seats. Continuing to perform in that manner will lead to self-sabotage and eventually render it unnecessary and obsolete. The role needs to evolve to more of a trusted advisor that is seen as a value-add as opposed to a cost-center and overhead. In this three-part series we will tackle questions the workplace learning professionals are asking:

For this 3-Part Series, we’ll discuss:

Part 1: The Evolution of the Workplace Learning Professional

  • What is the current reality of the workplace learning professional?
  • Why must the learning professional role evolve?
  • What does it mean to make this shift from order taker to trusted advisor?
  • Who are the primary customers/clients?
  • What does the trusted advisor role look like?

Part 2: Making the Shift from Order Taker to Trusted Advisor

  • How do you go about making this shift?
  • What relationships are needed?
  • How do we get there?
  • What are the challenges that you may face?

Part 3: Sustaining the Trusted Advisor Role as a Workplace Learning Professional

  • How do we continue to demonstrate value to the organization?
  • How do we measure success?
  • How do we keep the momentum going?

During this series, you will hear from two distinguished individuals, CoP guest speaker Deadra Welcome and from Management Concepts Lahaja Furaha.

Deadra Welcome, CPLP, CPTM is the Founder and CEO of Concerning Learning LLC, who is a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), Certified Professional in Training Management (CPTM), and a Kirkpatrick Bronze Level Certification credential holder.

Lahaja Furaha serves as Organizational Culture Lead and Senior Human Capital Advisor for Management Concepts. In this role, she is responsible for the design and implementation of methodologies to improve organizational performance.

We encourage you to share the Culture CoP information with anyone you think might be interested!

Please invite others; the Culture CoP is open to anyone interested in refining their knowledge and practice of the organizational culture change process. Please invite others who may benefit from the community!
