FAAMA 2021: Top Guns in Aviation Come Together Again
Written by: Vera Medici
The Management Concepts team was excited to greet everyone in person again at the Federal Aviation Administration Managers Association’s (FAAMA) 41st Annual Gathering of Eagles and “Managing the Skies” Expo, held October 24–28, 2021, in Henderson, Nevada. This was FAAMA’s first in-person convention since 2019 and featured a Top Gun theme that carried throughout the event, including a string quartet playing renditions of the Top Gun soundtrack at the opening Presidents Reception and a Tom Cruise impersonator at the closing Awards Gala.
The Maverick of Management Concepts
On Tuesday, October 26, Lonney Gregory, Management Concepts Senior Manager of Human Capital Services, presented the plenary session, “Change, Transition, Resilience: Helping others cope and thrive amidst uncertainty and change.” Lonney engaged the audience with interactive questions and answers, identifying the definitions and differences between “change,” “transition,” and “resilience.” Lonney also shared with the audience his own dramatic story of the critical episode that led to his career in the training field ― a story fit for the silver screen itself! Numerous visual aids throughout the presentation further illustrated concepts associated with experiencing change-related emotions, behaviors that build capacity for enduring resilience, and the use of language consistent in promoting performance.
Later that afternoon, Lonney also lent his expertise at the Speed Networking and Mentoring session, giving participating attendees personal attention regarding their professional goals. Individuals and organizations can benefit from the same expertise through Management Concepts Human Capital Advisory Services, including coaching, mentoring, talent management, and more.
The Wing Women of Management Concepts
Management Concepts has supported FAAMA as a Corporate Partner and Bronze Sponsor since 2018, supporting the unique needs of the FAA through leadership development programs and additional relevant training topics. Attendees who stopped by the Management Concepts booth learned about the latest professional development solutions for FAA personnel from the “wing women” of the Management Concepts FAA team ― Michelle Clark, Director, Marketing and Strategic Partnerships and Arya Sachdeva, Strategic Account Executive. For more information on these and other solutions, see the various offerings on the Management Concepts FAAMA partnership page.
