AGA PDT 2024: Elevating Financial Management icon

On July 14–17, 2024, in Denver, Colorado, Management Concepts greeted over 3,000 members of the financial management (FM) community at the AGA Professional Development Training (PDT). With a busy exhibit hall and overflowing plenary and breakout sessions, attendees had ample opportunity to earn CPEs and network with peers.

Inspiring keynote speakers throughout the event included Aron Ralston, adventurer and subject of the film 127 Hours; Victoria Labalme, internationally acclaimed inspirational performing artist; Lt. Col. Jason Harris, US Air Force officer, combat pilot, and Academy instructor; and Patrick Leddin, entrepreneur, professor, and author of The Wall Street Journal bestseller The 5 Week Leadership Challenge.

Breakout session topics ranged from contemporary issues in government to internal control, enterprise risk management, AI, grants management, and leadership. On Tuesday, July 16, Management Concepts also hosted a session “Preparing the Next Generation of Government Leaders,” presented by Scott Boozer, director, School of Federal Leadership Excellence at Management Concepts. This interactive session explored what skills and capabilities leaders need to thrive in the future, traits of effective government leaders, the paradoxes of leadership, and immersion programs built on developing the whole person. Learn more about the School of Federal Leadership Excellence (SoFLE), a cohort program just released by Management Concepts that takes these principles and puts them into practice.

At our booth in the exhibit hall, attendees talked to Management Concepts staff about our wide range courses and workforce services for federal as well as state and local FM professionals, including topics in FM such as budget, audit, and internal control; grants management; leadership and management; and data analytics. Attendees also had a chance to learn about working for Management Concepts as instructors and subject matter experts.

In such a dynamic field, Management Concepts is committed to serving the FM community across the cutting-edge topics and ever-changing budget and policy landscape. We’re looking forward to supporting PDT 2025 in Nashville, Tennessee! In the meanwhile, view event photos on our Facebook page, and keep up to date on our event participation with AGA on our AGA partnership page.
